We are currently recruiting for an experienced Employment Lawyer at Associate or Senior Associate level to join a highly regarded law firm in Brisbane.

About You

Transfer your skills and experience:

  • Must have a minimum 3 years PAE.
  • Ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in employment law and/or commercial litigation and have assisted in large, litigious matters.
  • They will have a strong understanding of industrial relations and employment law issues, be dedicated and have strong drafting, advisory and advocacy skills.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with their Partner group gaining exposure to client matters across a national level to a diverse client base consisting of unions, their members, community organisations and others.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a willingness to participate and lead client marketing engagement initiatives including attendance at functions, client function and delegate training.

About the Team:
This Industrial Relations and Employment Law team provide a broad range of services including:

  • Assisting major unions and professional associations with bargaining, secret ballots, and industrial action;
  • Fair Work Act contravention claims, including general protection litigation and NES, Award and EBA contraventions;
  • Representation and advocacy in industrial disputes;
  • Advising in relation to employment contracts disputes;
  • Professional misconduct matters;
  • Advising on restraint of trade and confidentiality matters;
  • Unfair and unlawful termination claims, as well as advising and assisting in relation to related termination and redundancy matters;
  • Discrimination and sexual harassment claims; and
  • Advising in relation to union right of entry.

The Associate/Senior Associate will also gain exposure to diverse and challenging areas of the law, including corporate and associations law, coronial inquests, defamation, and electoral and political legal
issues.
