The Role
A great opportunity for someone who is an experienced Legal Assistant and thrives in a busy practice group and offers excellent billing experience.

The successful candidate would look after the firm's Commercial Property, Planning & Environment and Energy & resources teams – 4 lawyers (including 2 Partners) + 2 law graduates.

In this role you will: 

  • Deliver high quality, accurate work whilst managing deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Coordinate and produce accurate compliant documents and correspondence including preparation of briefs for counsel.
  • Manage the matter lifecycle from file opening to closure/archival, adhering to the firm’s conflicts process, managing information barriers and contributing to the effective management of electronic content.
  • Answer phone calls within the team when team members are unavailable and take detailed and accurate messages.
  • Manage internal and external appointments across different time zones and offices.  Assist with meeting preparation, including IT infrastructure, and the coordination of post meeting actions.
  • Coordinate detailed travel arrangements including itineraries, meeting requirements and appropriate visa documentation if required.
  • Manage own and work author’s email as required, including ensuring timely filing of emails, filtering incoming correspondence, proactively dealing with queries and meeting invites.
  • Assist work authors with expense claims in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the production, signing and mailing of monthly bills for work authors.

To be considered for this role, you will possess:

  • experience in a similar role and in Commercial Property is essential
  • excellent personal presentation and telephone manner
  • time management skills with the ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • A proactive attitude and solutions focused
  • Excellent computer skills and attention to detail
  • Meeting room reservation system experience, EMS or similar
  • Ability to work under pressure and cope with changing priorities
  • Flexibility and adaptability (work practices and hours).
