The role
As a Legal Personal Assistant in the Property team, you will predominately be supporting a number of authors including Senior and Junior Lawyers. You will be exposed to a range of property-related matters acting for developers, investors, owners, landlords, tenants, public listed and non-listed companies. Property experience is advantageous but is not fundamentally essential in order to be considered.  To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you have recent and relevant legal industry experience working for a team of lawyers in the property space and that you enjoy transactional work and being relied upon by the talented Solicitors in the team.

You will be responsible for

  • Diary management;
  • Drafting correspondence;
  • Opening and closing files;
  • Assisting with the stamping and registration of leases;
  • Liaising with the Titles Office and attending to the preparation of relevant documents and the lodgment of documents;
  • Billing; and
  • General secretarial duties.

About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

  • At least 2 years' experience as a Personal Assistant;
  • Experience within a law firm working in the Property team, would be considered favourably but if you have worked in another practice group for a law firm, this could be your chance to move across to property;
  • Ability to prioritise your work and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Be a team player who is happy to assist their colleagues when required;
  • Excellent personal presentation and telephone manner;
  • Time management skills with the ability to organise and prioritise workload;
  • Ability to use initiative and follow through on requests;
  • Excellent computer skills and attention to detail;
  • Meeting room reservation system experience, EMS or similar;
  • Ability to work under pressure and cope with changing priorities;
  • Flexibility and adaptability (work practices and hours);
  • Energy and enthusiasm;
  • Ability to problem solve.
